Stand with Sudan pin
Stand with Sudan Pin - Fundraising item.
A little while ago, I was approached by Karima, a Sudanese wahine community advocate, volunteer coordinator, and quiet activist. She had purchased a Palestine fundraising item and asked if I would consider making a piece for Sudan. Combining ideas and heart, we’ve made a beautiful ceramic fundraising piece to wear in solidarity with the people of Sudan.
In Karima’s words:
“This piece grew from what was taken.
The gold reflects what our land has given, and what was stolen from it. Shaped into a triangle, it carries heavy weight.
It came to life from a place of grief — needing something to hold when I couldn’t hold everyone, or myself, anymore.
As you wear it, let there be a pause, a remembering, and a quiet prayer
for my people in Sudan.”
$25 from every necklace and $15 from every pin will be donated to Hope and Haven Refugees who support refugees in Chad displaced from Sudan.
Each piece is individually handmade so slight variations can occur. Triangle pin measures 3cm long by 3.5cm wide. Wear the pin as the inverted triangle of resistance, or point up as the pyramids of Sudan.
Black stoneware, gold glaze, butterfly clasp.
Very limited run. Made by Hellespont Ceramics in New Zealand.
